SHARK sets a new benchmark of performance with the brand-new AERON GP

2023 marks a revolutionary turning point for speed and motorcycle enthusiasts, thanks to SHARK’s latest innovation: the AERON GP.

The UNECE 22.06-approved AERON GP, designed for MotoGP racers and circuit enthusiasts, is revolutionising the world of helmets. It is the first helmet in the world to adapt to the racer’s position thanks to cutting-edge, patented technology: the Adaptive Aero System, A2S.

The new innovative, Adaptive Aero System, A2S works by utilising the mobile flaps to canalise the airflow and improve comfort. The mobile flaps can be found on the side of the spoiler and work to deflect the airflow and adapt to the rider’s hump allowing for better-improved aerodynamics. As a result, the new AERON GP reduces flag effect by 80%, turbulence by 50% and drag by 5%. The unrivalled aerodynamic performance and anti-pressure technology on the neck provide an exceptional riding sensation.

MotoGP racer and SHARK-supported rider, Johann Zarco has been an essential player in the development of the helmet, participating in tests on track and providing analysis under real-world conditions.

Marjorie BAUDET, General Manager of SHARK said: “SHARK’s genetics are made by racers for racers. It was obvious that our new flagship should be closely linked to this leitmotif which has driven us for 30 years. The development of this new helmet is its quintessence, and this campaign was entirely targeted to highlight the most successful product ever made at SHARK, the AERON GP. Offering the best in aerodynamics, body fit and style for our daily Racers”.

As well as help from Zarco, the AERON GP was developed using Computational Fluid Dynamic simulations coupled with wind tunnel tests, the AERON GP provides maximised ventilation thanks to the double venturi effect provided by the five air inlets and seven air extractors.

Featuring the next generation of carbon on view and aramid (COVA) shell, the new composition provides excellent shock absorption thanks to its structure and thermosetting resin. The Optical Class 1 anti-fog and anti-scratch visor has SHARK’s four anchor points and Quick Release Visor System.

Thanks to SHARK’s Best Fit – a 3D scanning campaign to guarantee comfort, support and stability -, the AERON GP has new 3D Morpho cheek pads, SHARK’s Emergency Quick Release System, removable ear pads and two anti-fog masks – one for summer and the other for winter – and sanitised Alveotech® antimicrobial interior fabric to help keep things fresh. The chin strap is secured with a red Peraluman double-D ring buckle and has a magnetic Auto-Lock protector.

Also included is the iconic SHARK Racing Helmet Bag used by all SHARK-sponsored riders, a Dark-Smoke visor, five tear-offs, five anti-pollution filters and one sheet of stickers. The AERON GP is available in six colourways including a full carbon version in sizes XS to 2XL.

Through a long tradition of research and development and partnerships with renowned racers, SHARK has consistently pushed the boundaries of safety and comfort. With its heritage deeply rooted in motorcycling culture, SHARK remains the gold standard for passion and authenticity on two wheels. This is proven once again with the AERON GP.
