SHARK Helmets unveil new replica and limited-edition helmets

In celebration of its title sponsorship of the French Grand Prix and its 30th anniversary this year, SHARK Helmets announced two new helmets to the racing division line-up at the SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France earlier this year.

Replica Johann Zarco Race-R Pro Carbon (Grand Prix de France 2019)

Unveiled by the French MotoGP rider at Le Mans, the new Johann Zarco Race-R Pro Carbon replica has been revealed to celebrate SHARK Helmets as the 2019 title sponsor of the Grand Prix de France.

The Race-R Pro Carbon Zarco replica is constructed from carbon aramid fibre and has a striking design with a gloss finish, emblazoned with Zarco’s distinctive number 5 across the top of the helmet. Developed in conjunction with SHARK Helmets-supported riders, the Race-R Pro Carbon meets all the demands of first-class racers: stability, lightness, comfort and ventilation.

The helmet features a distinctive double-blade spoiler for improved aerodynamic force at high speed and fastens securely with a double D-ring strap with a magnetic chin strap to stop flapping. The interior of the helmet is removable and washable.

The visor delivers crystal clear visibility with the optical class-one visor with variable density – the visor is 4.25mm thick in the centre and becomes thinner with 2.8mm thickness at the outer edge of the visor. It is also treated externally with anti-scratch protection and internally with anti-fog treatment for ultimate clarity. There’s a patented four anchor point visor safety lock paired with a quick release system for ease of use.

The Race-R Pro Carbon Zarco replica comes with a clear visor and is available in sizes XS – XL with an RRP of £599.99. Expected to be in UK dealers later this year.

30 Year Anniversary Race-R Pro GP (Limited Edition)

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the brand since its inception in 1989, SHARK Helmets present limited editions of its iconic racing model, the Race R Pro GP, in three different colour options: Red Carbon Black, Black Carbon Pearl, and White Carbon Black.

Limited to only 1989 units (663 units of each colour), mirroring the brands date of birth, the new Race-R Pro GP models feature the distinctive aerodynamic spoiler seen on SHARK-supported riders. Built for the track, the widely recognisable shape of the GP helmet was designed as a result of state-of-the-art testing by SHARK’s Research and Development teams in close collaboration with MotoGP racers, using breakthrough CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technology to achieve the best possible aerodynamic efficiency at top speeds whilst minimising drag, vibration and maximising stability. For optimal rider safety, there’s a ‘Quick Spoiler Safety System’ which allows ejecting of the spoiler in the event of a fall to limit the effects of secondary shocks.

The shell is built with a next-generation Carbon On View and Aramid structure (COVA), offering increased resistance to both abrasion and compression, lightness to reduce muscle tension, as well as preventing delamination. The multi-density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) provides increased shock absorption and optimal damping at each impact zone.

Featuring a chin vent fitted with a removable variable airflow, anti-pollution filter, an ergonomic visor grip and – as on the Race-R Pro – a high-strength visor with Optical Class 1 rating and variable thickness. Inside, the helmet has two-tone ‘Alveotech’ lining fabric with a Sanitized® treatment, which prevents the breeding of bacteria. There’s also a washable lining and new ‘3D morpho’ cheek contours for maximum comfort and support. To reduce noise, the helmet has memory-shaped ear pads, wrap-around neck protection, as well as a dual-use anti-fog breath guard that blocks background noise.

For a premium finish, the Race-R Pro GP helmet features ‘SHARK Racing Division’ laser engraving on the visor mechanics and wrap-around neck protection, as well as a titanium-coated double-D ring strap with magnetic buckle. Customers will receive the limited-edition helmet in an exclusively designed ‘Racing Division; helmet box and official ‘SHARK Racing Division’ bag – used by SHARK-support racers including Jorge Lorenzo and Johann Zarco. Also included is a Dark Smoke tinted, anti-scratch and anti-fog visor and SHARK Helmets racing stickers. The new limited-edition helmets have a special 30th anniversary hologram on the back of the helmet.

The 30 Years Anniversary Limited Editions Race-R Pro GP models are available in sizes XS-XL, with RRP £819.99. Available in UK dealers now.
