SHARK Helmets Race-R Pro GP FIM Racing #1 now available for customers

Following the news of SHARK Helmets introducing the first FIM racing homologated helmet in all sizes from XS to XL, the french brand has now revealed it will be launching the striking Race-R Pro GP FIM Racing #1 for customers.

The Race-R Pro GP FIM Racing #1 helmet has been worn by SHARK-supported riders since the 2019 race season got underway – and now this top-of-the-range model is now available for customers in a carbon skin version, presented in a deluxe premium package with an RRP of £779.99.

The shell is made from reinforced Carbon On View and Aramid Racing Structure (COVA RS) to fully meet all requirements of the new FIM Racing #1 standard. This new, 100% Carbon Aramid structure offers increased resistance to both abrasion and compression, as well as enhanced anti-delaminaton performance. The multi-density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) has also been optimised for improved shock absorption in the event of an accident.

It features a chin vent fitted with a removable variable airflow, anti-pollution filter, an ergonomic visor grip and – as on the Race-R Pro – a high-strength visor with Optical Class 1 rating and variable thickness. Most notably different from the other helmets in the SHARK range, is the rear spoiler for increased aerodynamics and stability. For optimal rider safety, the Race-R Pro GP FIM Racing #1 helmet has a ‘Quick Spoiler Safety System’ which allows ejecting of the spoiler in the event of a fall to limit the effects of secondary shocks.

The interior features a two-tone, high-tech ‘Alveotech’ lining fabric with a Sanitized® label which prevents breeding of bacteria. The removable and washable interior lining of the helmet also benefits from new technology used to cut out ‘3D morpho’ cheek contours for maximum comfort. To muffle noise at speed, the helmet contains shape memory ear pads and a dual use anti-fog breath guard. The wrap-around, breathable neck protection also helps with noise protection.

Every detail of the Race-R Pro GP FIM Racing #1 is premium. The visor mechanism and hardware have a top-quality coated finish and ‘SHARK Racing Division’ laser engraving, the double-D buckle is made of anodized titanium and a snap-on chin strap to ensure a perfect fit. Even the neck protection has laser marking.

Customers will receive the limited-edition Race-R Pro GP FIM Racing #1 helmet in an exclusively designed ‘Racing Division; helmet box and official ‘SHARK Racing Division’ bag – used by SHARK-support MotoGP racers including Jorge Lorenzo and Johann Zarco. Included too is a Dark Smoke tinted, anti-scratch and anti-fog visor and SHARK Helmets racing stickers.

Available in size XS (53-54cm) to XL (61-62cm) in two shell sizes for optimal morphological adjustment. It is expected to be in UK dealers at the end of April – early May.  

The new FRHPhe-01* certification will become mandatory in June 2019 in both the MotoGP and Superbike disciplines, before being extended to the other FIM competition categories by the start of the 2020 season.
